The Crevasse

Some requests are special.
“Good afternoon Mr. Müller, would you like to paint our harbor?”
What a question. Less than two months later, I’m standing on the pier in Dun Laoghaire, planning the first steps for my second large-scale 3D street painting.

The occasion is the Festival Of World Culture. Artists from all over the world who are not exactly mainstream meet here. You won’t find artists like that in a gallery. And this is what usually makes street artists.

They elude the gallery business, reducing competitiveness to a tolerable level, and the artists don’t have to genuflect to anyone. Best conditions for a picture with depth, without much tinsel around it.

And that’s what I wanted to paint. A 3D street painting reduced to the bare essentials that needs no description.
